FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We believe in timely service. And there’s nothing more timely than getting instant answers to your questions.

Vehicle Wrapping

Along with cars, vans, trucks, and SUVs, we also wrap motorcycles, boats, and other types of vehicles.
Compared to a high quality paint job, a wrap that offers the same look and feel will always cost less. It also takes less time to install, offers more durability, and can be readily removed.
Most car wraps last for 3-5 years. After that, we recommend changing the wrap to avoid difficult or damaging removal.
A full vehicle wrap typically takes one work week to complete. We can provide you with a more precise estimate if you contact us and let us know what you need.
Yes, the wrap can be removed from your vehicle. Removing the wrap will not cause damage to the paint, as long as the paint was originally in good condition.  We do not recommend removing the wrap yourself as this could cause damage.
We recommend hand washing your vehicle with a soft cloth or synthetic or natural sponge with a mild soapy water solution.  Rinse thoroughly with clean water. We do NOT recommend using touchless car washes due to the high water pressure. Automatic car washes are also NOT recommended as the brushes may scratch the wrap or catch one of the edges. Using a pressure washer is ok as long as the tip does not come within 12 inches from the surface and avoid spraying near edges especially at an angle.

Custom Accents

Since vehicles come in different shapes and sizes, and some designs are more complex than others, there’s no one-size-fits-all price. If you have an idea for your vehicle, just get in touch with us — our quotes are always free.
We certainly can help you create a custom look for your vehicle. If you’re not quite sure what you want, our on-location configurator is a great way to preview different designs and see what’s possible.
While a partial wrap takes much less time than the 4-5 days a full wrap requires, it still depends on how many areas you want wrapped and how complex your design is. Something like a hood wrap can be completed in as little as one hour, while a design that features wrapping on several areas might take 1-2 days.

Paint Protection Film

Paint Protection Film is a poly-urethane film that is virtually invisible. It has a self-healing top coat that allows the film to self heal any swirl marks or light scratches.
PPF is designed to protect your vehicle from the abuse of everyday driving. It will give you 24/7 protection from stone chips, bug damage, road tar, outdoor weathering and everyday scratches while preserving the original paint underneath.
We recommend washing your vehicle frequently to keep the paint protection film clean. If you use a pressure washer, hold it at least 12 inches from the paint protection film and avoid spraying directly at the edges. If possible avoid touchless car washes.
Yes, we recommend waxing to keep the film and paint looking new. Use a water based wax product and always test on a small inconspicuous area before proceeding.
On certain vehicle colours and lighting there are times where you may see a faint line. If you want to avoid any lines we recommend doing full panel coverage.
The paint protection film we use comes with up to 10 years of warranty coverage on the film and a lifetime warranty on the installation.

Ceramic Coating

Unlike typical sealants and wax coatings that only last for months, the benefits of ceramic coating typically last for 2-4 years.
If your goal is to enjoy that waxed, high-gloss look with a fraction of the time and effort, it’s absolutely worth it. The added layer of protection you get is just icing on the cake.
We wouldn’t call them “disadvantages” so much as “limitations”. Ceramic coating does a lot of things well, but it’s important to recognize that it:
  • Doesn’t provide the same level of damage protection as PPF
  • Doesn’t eliminate the need for car washing
  • Doesn’t completely prevent water spotting
It’s common for people to get a ceramic coating and then want PPF later on, but PPF can’t be applied to a ceramic coating – the coating would need to be polished off first. However, ceramic coating can be applied to PPF, so if you’re planning on getting both, be mindful of the order.
If we notice damage to your vehicle’s paint that could affect the finished result of your ceramic coating, we’ll let you know. You can choose to have us proceed with paint correction and/or polishing (for an additional cost) before we apply the ceramic coating to your vehicle.
While the base coat doesn’t need to be reapplied, we recommend bringing your vehicle in once a year for a boost. Over time the hydrophobic properties and shine will fade, so a boost will bring them back. If you’d like to maintain your ceramic coating on your own, you can purchase a ceramic boost spray in-store and boost it every 3 months or so.

Automotive Window Tint

In BC, you can tint any windows behind the driver to your preferred level of darkness. Only the top 75mm of the windshield can be tinted.
The best types of car window tinting offer high levels of UV and infrared radiation protection. These features work to protect your health while also keeping your vehicle cool.
Ideally, we ask for the vehicle to be left with us for the day to allow for proper drying time.

Factor AutoFilm

Along with cars, vans, trucks, and SUVs, we also wrap motorcycles, boats, and other types of vehicles.
We generally don’t provide decals, business signage, or other forms of vehicle graphics as a standalone service.
While we don’t currently have a courtesy car or shuttle service, we’re happy to arrange for a taxi or ride hailing service to help you travel to and from our wrap studio.
Automotive detailing might be in our future, but for now we’re 100% committed to being Kelowna’s premier vehicle wrapping provider.
